first off verity wasnt installed on my cfmx8 vps server as someone mentioned it was. It needs to be downloaded from adobe and of course the download isnt working.

You set that on the processing page before you put it into the db or into mail code.
Usually it's one of the first things I do on the processing page to to be sure the fields are "clean" ...
