Okay, no response yet on my previous post.

Been browsing the forum and tripped out on the trashing of FrontPage

I don't know why I have kept using the program for so many years. According to some its because I'm lazy. Lately, though, I have begun noticing FPs limitations and cluttered html. I am also worried that it may be keeping my site from performing as well as it could.

I'm 55yrs old, and not looking forward to learning new software, but I'm willing to try.

So, my new query is "Would any web developer out there be interested in converting my site to Dreamweaver?" What I mean is, keep my site looking exactly the same, but fix the code and bring it in line with web standard.

Once it's been created using Dreamweaver I am hoping I can buy the software and maintain the website myself.

Jim,

There's alot that could be done to improve the look and feel of your site as well as it's performance and visibility on the web. Possibly updating the color scheme, getting a new design, and moving from inline styling to CSS would work wonders Smile

Hi Jim,

We can certainly help you transition your website from FP to Dreamweaver. I agree with Josh, CSS will definitely improve the functionality of your website.

Please check out our website: http://www.galfanodesign.com and let us know if we can be of service.

Thank you!

CSS isn't going to improve the functionality, but it will dramatically increase his keyword density. Look at how much source code is used for layout and styling... replace the tables w/ divs, move all styling/formatting info into an external CSS file and you could probably cut down the amount of source code to at LEAST half...

The other big thing about FP is that you need to be able to pull yourself away from all of the FP generated content, such as shared borders, forms, discussions, and themes.

All of these functions can be replaced with scripts and nowadays you can often find these scripts canned on the web usually in asp or perl.
