I have a second domain name pointing to my site and have everything working fine except for mail.
- My MX record and CNAME for mydomain2 both point to the same mail server as my original domain. - If I type mail.mydomain2.com in the browser it goes to the same login prompt - But if I send mail to user@mydomain2.com I get a bounce from the mail server saying 'No such user here' I tried adding a new domain alias in SmarterMail, but always get the following error when I hit save (no matter what I try for my MX record, even mydomain.com): "The mx record for this domain does not match the ip addresses available on the host machine." Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I tried googling this error and didn't see any issues that would actually be on my end. thanks |

Actually what I meant to say was: 'no matter what I try for my MX record OR if I just try adding my original domain name in the SM alias entry box'. I would have expected it to say (cannot add a duplicate alias), but the fact that it actually tries to resolve the working domain/MX record and still shows the same error makse me think something is set up wrong on the server. |

It sounds like you have everything configured correctly. As I do not know the domain name, I cannot research this further. I recommend emailing support@hostmysite.com with the 2 domain names, your primary and secondary and copying the issue as you described it and we can look at the mail server to see what the issue is. If necessary, we can manually configure the domain alias for you.
