Help me understand spam filtering on smartermail?

I did read this article. But Im still confused about the weights. Can someone dumb the explaination down a bit for me? Whats the maximum weight also? Any info that may help make this more clear to me is appreciated.

Hello,

There is no real maximum weight. By changing the values of the individual checks as well as each threshold you can completely customize how your spam checks affect email. For instance, if I wanted to make Reverse DNS an 'instant delete' I could change it's weight to 30 (the default value for HIGH spam) and then set the HIGH spam action for "DELETE".
