I'm looking for a module that will perform the following task...
Add product 1,2,3... from category A into your cart.... Add product 1,2,3... from category B into your cart.... receive a discount I'm setting up a store for someone who makes collectible military swords, and sword display cases... He wants to give a discount to someone who buys a sword and display case togehter, not necessarily 2 swords or 2 display cases, nor does he want just a % or $ off the total if the order is over a certain amount... What module has that capability, to give a discount if one product is purchased from two categories? |

i know there's plenty of discount modules out there... but i dont see anything that particularly allows you to give a discount based on 2 items being added from 2 specified categories. My store only has 2 categories total, so i want to give a discount when one product is ordered from each.

Chris; If you've already found your module, disregard this late respnse to your post.
Instead of purchasing a module to do what you are asking, think about this: In cat A You have Swords A1, A2, A3 .... full price $100 In cat B You have Display Cases B1, B2, B3 ..... full price $50 Create an Attribute Template "DC" (for Display Case) and assign DC to A1, A2, A3 .... When customer checks out, he will see the following option (which you have added to your template): Would you like to add a display case to your order and receive a $25 discount. These dispaly cases are $50 when purchased seperately. If so, make your selection here: O No, Thanks O [Pic of B1 case] O [Pic of B2 case] O [Pic of B3 case] Note: the Radio button for ' No, Thanks' would be selected by default. If the customer checks the Radio button for B1, B2, B3 .... that item is added to his order at the price you set for that option ($25 for this example) instead of the full price. Another option would be to add items C1, C2, C3 .... which are identical to to B1, B2, and B3 .... respectively. DO NOT assign these items to a category. Set the price in MIVA at the discounted price for these items with words to the effect, this items may only be purchased at this price when purchasing a Sword A1, A2, or A3 .... Then set C1, C2, and C3 as 'Related Items' for A1, A2, and A3 ...when you do a flat file upload. Just a thought... Bob Spiteri |
