I want my site to show potential clients and interested fans the documented build up of my race car. Lots of before, during, and after pics, and a decent amount of text. Videos, a forum (where they can ask me questions, etc.). Nothing super flashy, but a little more on the professional side. My skills are in the garage, so I am seeking someone to set this up for me, and teach me how to maintain and update, etc. Local preferred. Thanks.

Why not get a Blog account with Hostmysite? With a Word Press Blog account it's supper easy to update your text and post your pictures. This way you can bug the Hostmysite support team all hours of the night for free! ( As long as you are a customer)

If you want to do this on your own you can sign up for any of the accounts and just use SiteDesigner. It is not very flexible, but does a nice job for those who just the the basics. The only thing you'd have trouble with here would be video. If you are set on having videos you may want to look into some development help. Contact HostMySite support and let them know you'd like a recommendation on a local developer and we would be happy to give you a nice list.
Like Rick suggested, using WordPress for your forum is a great idea since it is free with every hosting account at HostMySite. (And you can call us all hours of the night to bug us if you need help : ) Not sure if you know this, but one of our datacenters is actually located in Bear, DE |

Wordpress is a pretty simple program to pick up as well. If you don't want to get too technical, the default options of wordpress should suffice. More details about wordpress itself (add-ons and other features) can be found at http://wordpress.org
Also, HMS has a Blog Only plan should you opt for it rather than going for a full-blown hosting plan. It is only $45/year: http://www.hostmysite.com/hosting/blog/ Do you race anywhere? I used to race my Olds down at Cecil County Dragway years ago before I got rid of it. It ran 13's...of course it was clocked at 135 mph in PA too, only because the gas pedal stuck...  |
