I have a linux hosting plan. My cgi-bin contains a formmail.pl script for mailing forms to me. The cgi-bin is outside my root folder. The "Action" of my form needs to point towards this script. How do I do this? The Action should be something like http://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/formmail.pl but this does not work. Any ideas? should I copy the cgi-bin folder into the htdocs folder? how do I point to the cgi-bin outside my root folder?

Leave the cgi-bin where it is, moving it to the htdocs folder wouldn't help. Your account should be configured so that the cgi-bin works outside the htdocs folder. Are you getting a 404 error or a syntax error?
