HostMySite.com is pleased to annouce that we are now offering free .NET 2.0 accounts for beta testing purposes! These free trial accounts can be viewed at http://hostmysite.com/aspnet/ and includes 500 megabytes of disk space, 100 megs of SQL data with 50 megabytes of SQL log. Additionally on our page we have links to multiple tools to help you get started with the beta, such as web walkthroughs and a free download of Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Beta 2.
If you are interested in this new technology, please feel free to sign up by visiting our web site. We are currently listed on both Microsoft MSDN page and the Asp.net hosters pages (the ad's cycle per click so if you do not see us, be sure to refresh). I have copied some links that I have found helpful so far since I have started dabbling in 2.0 beta, which I hope you will find useful as well. The free .NET 2.0 Beta hosting accounts will end when the Microsoft beta testing for the product expires. This beta program is not for production sites, which you can read further about the Go-Live license agreement at http://hostmysite.com/aspnet/ . I was hoping you'd have beta accounts available at some point.

I opened a Beta account and downloaded the 2005 Visual Studio Beta Developer Edition.
I attempted to create a project on the test site, and was told that the server didn't have FP extensions. I asked if HMS could install them, but was told no since everything was in Beta. I doubt I create a project on my local machine then FTP them to the server, since I'm guessing that the Visual Studio would have to create it's files/settings on the server. Anyone else come across this problem and found a way around it? Thnx, MB |
