My client is telling me that our email list has been extremely slow lately. Is there something on the mailserver that is slowing down the rate at which emails are able to fly out the door? I am using ASP.NET for my application. It used to run great, but lately its been getting pretty bad. It took my client some 20 minutes to send out 440 emails. That puts us at about 3 seconds per email. Is there anyway to speed things up?

Do you have any ideas why my application would be running so slow? Is there something that limits the speed at which the mail server is able to send emails out the door? IF you want I can setup a demo application using the same scripts, for you to play with.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this - I somehow missed this post and no one pointed it out to me. In order to determine what's slowing you down I'll need specific info on your application, and a test app for me to play with would be great too.
