Does anyone have any recommendations for using Moveable Type or Wordpress as a Blogging tool?

Both seem to be a pretty simple setup but MT costs money now for a multpile blog license.

Any Ideas?

I'm definitely a Wordpress fan these days, after having my fair share of problems with MT back on version 2.5/2.6, however I've now been put in a jam by WP 1.5 which broke a bunch of changes I had made within WordPress due to the new "themes"

In any case, they're both good pieces of software, but for openness, stability, and performance, I'd recommend Wordpress

I personally have grown fond Movable type. However, my cubicle neighbors tell me Wordpress is the 'wave of the future'. The again, I suppose the true way to go would be to write you own blog code.

Personally, I've tried both. Moveable Type is a really robust web logging program, but I found it difficult to install. Wordpress was ridiculously easy to install, it was as though someone at Apple had helped them. The interface is nice and very easy to customize. Well, if you know what you're doing it's easy to customize. There are plenty of themes and plug-ins that you can get for it to make it your own. My wordpress blog can be found at http://www.z3links.com. The graphic at the top was done by me.

Also, Wordpress doesn't have the horrendous CPU issues with the comments script(although to be fair, I think MT finally fixed this in the latest versions)

Wordpress all the way. Better and easier to manage then MT, it's free, and way more customizable if you know PHP. Wink

I just got wordpress installed, haven't tried tried MT. If you want something really simple, there is SPHP (simple php blog). It doesn't even need a DB to pull from! Of course simple does mean it doesn't nearly have as many features as you would get in WP, which I'm still playing with... Can anyone recommend some good sites for WP stuff? Thanks!
