LOL!!! not for me... that's your new LCD in action lol!!!

I used PNG's this time around because of the apha blending... I can't think of why that would have anything to do with it. That and the pic of the agent that I got was grainy. I'll have to get him to resend it.

Well, I got the white background displaying again. I've decided to settle right where it is. Only using IE7 (not the new IE, but Dean Edwards server-side compliance workaround for IE - http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/) I got the transparency that's NECESSARY for the site to be viewed halfway attractively for IE, and viewed as intended w/ FF.

Thanks for everything.

Here's a screencap of what I see on My PC as of 9:45 EST this morning...

http://www.davisplanet.com/1.jpg

it's a dual monitor setup so the screencap is big...but you can see the Transparency is not working in IE...

Yep that's what I have too. It's just going to have to stay like that. PNG opacity in IE is a b!tch... period... and I hate it... *beats it*...

I know the answer is don't code for IE, but realistically that doesn't work lol...

Actually I signed up there for a period of about 3 weeks and there wasn't anything good coming to my inbox... at least nothing that I was concerned w/ at the time. Maybe I will again.

Well - you HAVE to code for IE since 85%-95% of your users are using it...

Unfortunately, for as much as you have to code FOR IE - you also have to code AROUND it...

I'd just leave it as it is...it looks good for IE peeps - but looks REALLY good for FF users & everyone else using a good browser. And when/if that IE7 hack fixes the problem correctly or MS does - it'll be like the guy got a brand new site to all his IE visitors!

Yep. I finished porting everything last night. it's staying just like it is. he's extremely pleased with it and has only seen it in IE, but the only thing that doesn't display in IE is the background png image - so it's alot of difference, and at the same time not alot of difference.

You did see his old site did you not? Man... it's amazing what only a few short years can do for design Wink The goal has been to live and learn, not live the same old sh!t over and over again lol Wink

blegh...

Good luck on that... flash is great, but the fact that it;s not "standard" software and that it requires a user intervened download is enought to run that one away for right now. I'll stick w/ traditional venues.
