Hey guys,
For those of you who are running just one website and are thinking about upgrading to a VPS for more speed and power, I recommend you just get a .NET Pro Shared account. These are shared hosting accounts that run on load balances servers. They cost about as much as the cheap windows VPS.

I used to have a client running on a 2 GB windows VPS pro. We had lost sessions, and downtime. After moving to the .NET Pro Shared Account I haven't had a single problem. No error messages. And no lost sessions, and its way faster!

I highly recommend!

I forgot to mention something. If your asp.net website uses the System.Web.Mail namespace, you will need to rewrite this code to use the System.Net.Mail namespace. I learned this the hard way when we made the migration. I had to rewrite a bunch of code to ensure this would work. I guess Server 2008 doesn't support Web.Mail as its part of the .NET 1.1 framework. and Server 2008 uses the.NET 3.0 and 3.5 frameworks.

Yes, the 1.1 framework isn't forward compatible, however all other versions are.
