Maybe I'm just a little nieve about the tags that are offered but when Hostmysite says that cfx_autoresize is available for us to use shouldn't they be working?

When I do a google search for this tag a few months ago I came up with this as the first result.
http://www.zrinity.com/products/productdetail.cfm/id/6

I installed this on my dev server and began plugging away. I then transfered the code to HMS and the custome tag doesn't work. I kept getting an error about not being able to find image.dll. After a few emails to HMS they finally got rid of the error but produced a new one. "action is undefined".

Can anyone give me documentation on the cfx_autoresize that is acutally installed on the shared servers?

The main reason for using this tag was that it resized the original image and then uploaded the original image and the resized image creating a thumbnail.

Why not just use CF8's built in image functions? They are MUCH better than they were in CF7 Better performance, and they are built right in with no worrying about any extra tags.

If you need help with the new cf8 image tags, just come back here and ask an I'd be happy to help.

Yes I can use that but that is not the point I am getting at. I want to see documentation on the tags that they have available. I would have thought that one of the leading pushers of Coldfusion and Coldfusion hosting would be able to provide documentation on the tags that are provided to their customers. Especially when they use the tags as a selling feature for their hosting package. Rolling Eyes

Anyways, I recoded the site to work with CFX_Image and all is well.

Not full documentation, just a list of tags.

Why would you want to use anything other than cf8's built in image manipulation? Check out imageutils on riaforge.com if you want to experiment with it. Check out aspectcrop() if you want to see a very handy function for everyday site use and thumbnailing.

It's alive.... It's alive!!!! Way to bring this one back from the dead.

When I was doing the programming for the site 8 wasn't something that most hosts used. Again, that is getting beyond the point of this post. I wanted to see actual documentation of the tags that HMS claims are available to us.

I agree that the docs should be available on our support pages and I will make a suggestion for that.

Did you try shooting support@hostmysite.com an email about it? They should have been able to get you the info; if not, please PM me with your ticket number and I can see what went wrong!

Thanks for the suggestion.
