Hi,

i'm seeking an instant messaging freeware that can allow me to send from my desktop un message to all computers that are connected on the LAN which i'm the manager.
I would like that when i send a message and that the message arrive on the receiver computer, the message is directly displayed and ready to be read on the screen.

I know 2 software that are doing partialy this job:

-realpopup: the new message window is firstly automatically reduce on the task bar of operating system, and a cursor blinks near the computer clock to warn the user of the arrival of the new message; if the user doesn't pay attention he can't know that i got a new message!
-winchat of win xp: the user that receive a new instant message have to simulate the pick up the phone to receive and read the arrival message; so if he doesn't take care, he may not know that he receives a new message.

Why do i want such a software: to be able to inform users when an urgent message has to be widely and quickly broadcast; for example, this morning i had wanted to broadcast the information about the "valentine's day virus" to all my LAN users, before they open their email box; i have been oblige to print the information and share it to each one!

My operating system: win xp pro sp2
My LAN users operating system: win xp pro sp2

Thank you
Connie

It sounds more like you want to broadcast a message to the network rather than instant message them... The easiest thing I can think of that is already included with Windows, is using net send, but the services it uses maybe disabled by default in XP. However, it would prompt the user on the screen with the message without them having to open/check another program.
