I set up a new site on my win VPS and get the following error:

Either the Macromedia application servers) are unreachable or none of them has a mapping to process this request.

any ideas? this is in its own AppPool and configured identically to two other CF sites that work fine. I must be missing one key thing in the configurations but I have no idea WHAT.

for what ever reason deleting the jrun connection and reestablishing it fixed the problem. I found the relevant info at:

I used the command line interface in windows to find the tool and run it.

I think what it did was add this application extension mapping:
C:\ColdFusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\2\jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll

to the application configuration (IIS manager, websites, [right click on desired website in right window panel] properties, home directory, configuration, wildcard application maps

I don't understand it, but it seems to work.
