While I've never believed the "No Referrer (bookmark or direct-entry)" statistics represent what the title says (but for a small fraction) since it always accounts for over half my reported visits, thinking instead it's just a catch-all for everything unresolvable, which might include the kitchen sink, it recently doubled. I am now getting record-setting reports of visits while my referrals from Google, Yahoo, etc. remain about the same. No way Jose... it ain't likely.

Clearly something is wrong. Whoever may have recently tweaked Smarter Stats (this week)surely made it worse. Also, it would be very helpful if HMS would notify everyone when Smarter Stats is tweaked whereby we can quickly understand the reason behind sudden changes.

So, did someone tweak Smarter Stats earlier this week (June 3, 2007)?

I remember hearing an issue like this with SmarterStats before. If memory serves correctly it was actually a bug in SmarterStats. Nothing on the server level for the stats server would have changed like that to cause the problem. Has support checked out your issue yet? What did they say?

No, I haven't checked... didn't want to bother HMS about their free service being problematic. Instead, figuring HMS employees read this forum, I thought posting my thoughts (suggestions) here would be more appropriate.
