Postini is being acquired by Google. Here is my take on this:
Good:
Postini's classification stinks. Maybe they can "learn" from gmail.
Postini might get a better interface.
Postini might be faster.
HMS may be able to get Postini for a cheaper price.
Bad:
Google often stops offering services of the companies they buy until they have transitioned to google.
Google is acquiring too large a portion of the internet.

Google seems to actively give back to the IT community.
Put it this way I'd feel more comfortable with Google in charge, rather than someone like Microsoft.

I second that.
Google has been making a lot of aquisitions - Doubleclick, Feedburner, Jot, Youtube etc. I wonder what's next. Even though I doubt it will happen, I dream of Google acquiring Apple and teaming up to combat Microsoft.

I have to say I'm glad HostMySite had the foresight to invest in Postini. If you get bought out by Google you know you're doing something right.
