If i "approve" a domain in Postini. Is it 'stupid' or 'smart'?
Does it make any effort to check if the message is really from that domain or is it a wide open invite for spoofers using that domain? anyone know? |

I think I know what you are looking for here. Even if you approve the domain you still want a check in place to prevent other messages like spoofed messages getting through. I honestly don't know if the Postini system checks against that. I would imagine if the message contains a virus then it would be flagged regardless. Spoofing I don't know for certain but tech support could easily find out.

I believe approving a domain stops all spam checking...not sure about virus...but I'm fairly certain it leaves it open for spoofers. So I would recommend in allowing only specific addresses like user@yahoo.com instead of just yahoo.com. We ran into this a few times when customers approved their own domain which allowed spoofers to send them spam still.
