No, that's a bug. My own avatar as well as many others were uploaded. Did you try uploading something other than an animated .gif?

BTW, that hamster is really frightening. It's like the Monty Python Hamster or something.

I admin configuration had null in for the max Avitar size for upload. I changed this to a value. I guess we can see if that helps; otherwise it may be a permissions issue on the server. I guess DHyde can check it out.
