Hi,

My name is Petros and I a new HostMySite customer. In fact this is my first post to the forums. I have a Linux Builder account. I can see that Linux Builder accounts support Ruby on Rails. However, when I am in the control panel, I cannot see anything regarding Ruby on Rails. Can someone explain briefly what are the steps I have to make in order to use Ruby on Rails in my account and how I can manage everything? Thank you in advance!

amiridis - There's nothing that needs to be done in the control panel. We have information on how to get started creating an application on your account through SSH, or how to deploy a pre-existing application to your HMS account, here

Thank you. I have downloaded Putty and tried to connect using my adminstration username but I got "access denied". Is this the username I should use (the same I use to connect to control panel)? When I entered the password there was no characters reflected on screen. Is this normal?

No characters being shown is normal for the password.

You would want to connect with your FTP username and password (technical login)

I try to connect using my FTP account username and password but I get the following message: "This account is currently not available". What might be the problem?

I asked support about this and it turned out it was a problem with the account. They took care of it and I can now connect with Putty.
