I'm playing with this basic content management system I found. I did what it said in setting the permissions to be able to 'write' to the database, but now when I go to try to log in, it gives me this error. Can anyone help?
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0xb90 Thread 0xf68 DBC 0xaf6b074 Jet'. /elab/simplePages/admin/admin_functions.asp, line 36 Thanks, Dan |

what driver/version are you using? And IUSR_CompName has Write/Modify permissions?

Um, the database has write permissions, not modify (should it have modify as well?)
Not sure what you mean by driver/version? |

From our website:
If it's not an Access database, login to your control panel and give the entire directory "modify" permissions, or simply email support@hostmysite.com with the error and we'll do so for you. |

Yes. These permissions are not something that you can set yourself. Ontop of that, last I knew, hostmysites file permission tool didn't exactly work. So you need to put your database in a folder by itself and email support@hostmysite.com to have them assign write/modify permissions to the folder.

I set the permissions on the folder containing the database to write/modify.
I still get this error. |

I also gave the whole 'simplepages' directory modify permissions (including subfolders).
OK, I just looked at the code and figured out the problem...my path to the database was missing something. It works now. Thanks for your help! |

Actually, both are working quite well. |

Very cool...
It's an invaluable tool, and has the possibility of cutting down on support calls (to those people that realize they can do things themselves |
