Hi looking for anybody who has installed Plesk or cPanel in a Windows VPS+ account. Since HMS does not support that nor offer, wanted to see if there are any issues before I do the work.

Thanks

If I remember correctly from beta testing that HMS only offered Plesk on the VPS + (Which as you said the Plus version is no longer offered)

But I remember them saying that Plesk has to be installed BEFORE the operating system, so I'm not sure if you are going to be able to do it in a virtual environment. Maybe cPanel is different.

But please let me know. I might look into it as well then for my clients. Very Happy

yeah I have the CF VPS + . I'll update this thread on my success or failure. According to the tech guy I talked to management had made the decision not to support this ( I guess after beta) not sure of exact reasons, but too me seems a bit odd.

Tech had suggested just standard reseller account but if shared hosting could deal with 3rd party stuff then would be a no brainer, alas that is not the case.

I know they told me that Plesk has some issues when installed along side Coldfusion in Windows.

I do have some reseller accounts, but like you said it makes managing them hard. Sad
My previous host let you email your clients, bill them (at your own rate) right through the control panel.

I really hope to see a big improvement in reseller capabilities to the HMS CP in the future.

just an FYI, as cPanel was mentioned earlier, a windows version of cPanel is in development, but has not yet been released (and AFAIK there's no timetable either).
