While I admit having my head turned by LunarPage's prices and the positive notes posted about them on various host rating sites, I love HMS.

The only problem I've had with support is that they don't telepathically understand my problem and directly infuse my brain with the solution to my specific problem (which rarely involves a problem with their hosting services, usually just my lack of knowledge).

I'm still waiting for HMS to come up with a Matrix-style device that instantly teaches advanced RoR/AJAX-y/eCommerce techniques along with Kung-Fu. I'm sure they'll get right on that.

I believe that HMS has now overcome these growing pains, and now I have the stats to prove it:


Uptime for December: 99.999619% (17min 21s downtime, 14 of which were in a maintenence window)
Ticket Response time for my most recent ticket: 6 min.
And this is despite it being a Monday morning.


In fact, HMS is now rated the #1 host by tophosts.com - I can see why

Much agreed. Support emailed me the other day to see if I was still having any problems with a big issue that was solved the week before. That showd me a lot Very Happy

We've got this in Beta and are looking for test subjects now, actually. Maybe we'll use the interns...

What is going on with hostmysite the last couple days?

Yesterday the shared server of one of my ColdFusion sites repeatedly rebooted and I got errors when trying to use the control panel to admin a different domain name (got a cfstoredproc timeout error and today it says the page is not working and to check back later). And now this morning I can't FTP into yet another domain?

I have to wonder what is going on as all these issues seemed to crop up suddenly.

Yes, ftp problems seem to be growing lately. Now, I find I have to use passive mode, but that doesn't permanently solve connection issues. I should add that I'm always able to connect fine to my dedicated server sites...just not always the shared server sites.

There is nothing network wide that would be affecting FTP or coldfusion server performance. If you are experience problems you should open up tickets with our support department so we can investigate the problems for you.
