I had some troubles with server settings when trying to install and support did was kind enough to adjust the settings for me. However, I still have "odd" things going on with some components giving me messages such as this:
Notice: Undefined variable: query in /vservers/subfluid/htdocs/components/com_joomlalib/classes/jllog.class on line 739

It happens with various components, but does not seem to be affecting performance. I use these same components on other servers without a hitch. Any ideas what could be going on?

It does take a little more time setting up Joomla here at HMS. I don't think there are many Joomla apps running here. Probably some library missing somewhere.

Since Joomla recommends turning PHP errors off, I do and things run fine.

Actually, I had no problems installing Joomla! here except that I had to submit a support request for Magic Quotes to be turned 'On' and the session save path to be set to writable. I'm impressed that HMS support did this for me with no hassle. I suppose the only downside is that I will have to make this support request with every install and I may be migrating a dozen or more sites here if things go well with HMS services.

Anyway, I have since found that the problem was specific to the JoomlaLib and BSQ Stats components. The notices are non-critical, but are being addressed by the developer. To prevent non-critical notices from showing is just a matter of changing Joomla! reporting from 'System Default' to 'Simple' under Global Configuration/Server.
