CF BBS/Forum

Can anyone recommend a CF based forum that will work with an Access DB. This is for a very, very small non-profit with no money so............

I have looked at CFBBS and like it, but it is only set up for SQL Server and they can't afford the hosting for that. I thought I would modify it to work with Access, but it works off several stored procedures. I got the tables moved over easily enough so if anyone knows a quick and easy way to convert the stored procedures, that would work too.

Too bad HMS doesn't support PHP on the Windows boxes, then phpBB would be an option. Wink

Hello,

I am not familiar with any CF based forums that support AccessDB, but our Smarterlinux hosting plans (http://smarterlinux.com/hosting.html) do support PHP and include a MySQL database. If you are familiar with MySQL this may be a good option for you.

Thanks guys. As much as I hated to do it, I wound up going with Snitz, an ASP based forum. Thanks again for the responses.

That would depend on the forum you use.

Snitz is an ASP based forum and is free.

Then you have the free php based forum: phpBB
http://www.phpbb.com

And there is also a free CF based one that requires SQL Server.

Sorry for the late reply...the forum is still in beta. I am waiting to finalize more code before I release the beta. In another 2 weeks...the forums will be done for public beta testing.
