Hi, I presently have an ASP.NET VPS account and was wondering, do we get (or are we able to simply install ourselves?) a Wordpress blog on it? This isn't something we have to pay another monthly charge for is it?

Thankyou for your time and advice,

You have a two options:

- We an setup a blog on our shared server for you free of charge.

-or-

- You can install PHP for Windows on your VPS: http://www.hostmysite.com/support/dedicated/general/installphp/

You'd also need to install MySQL.

Personally I'd go for the former but if you need more than one blog, the latter would be the best option.

Hi there. I need a blog platform on my HMS Windows 2003 / CF VPS too. Currently I have set up a blog solution using ColdFusion. But it is a jerry-rigged solution and I would rather use a more standard blog solution.

What Blog platform does HMS offer on a Windows 2003 VPS?

Thanks for any help.

We really only officially support Wordpress and that would be on our shared servers. As for what you can use with Windows, you're welcome to install PHP and MySQL on a Windows VPS and setup Wordpress. Or you could use other blog software, but be aware that most of the good ones are PHP and MySQL based.

Ryan,

I'll probably configure Ray Camden's BlogCFC platform.

Thanks for your help! Have a great evening.

mango blog http://mangoblog.org is a huge improvement over blogcfc. it even has a blogcfc import script for upgrading. Might be worth checking out as it has some really awesome and unique features.
