I've had Windows Vista for 3 weeks now and noticed I can't close Internet Explorer when it encounters a redirect (invariably it hangs up and won't let me close the window... it just 'beeps' when clicking the 'x'). It happens more-so using Yahoo because of the slew of redirects in its search results (rds.yahoo etc, etc.)... so much so I've gone exclusively Google. Still, Google has them as do others.
This didn't happen with my XP. I've tried my 'esc' key... it's worthless. I've read that "alt + F4" is supposed to work but it doesn't. The only solution I've found is to re-start my computer. Any suggestions? Surely there's an easier way than hunting around for explorer.exe and 'ending program'. |

I haven't really run into the redirects issue, but I do use FireFox which generally stops it automatically and tells me the site is redirecting in a way that will never complete...

Thanks... I hadn't noticed. I don't use Firefox that much but it's a good reason.
