You may have heard that we are changing over to a different mailsystem - the new system is called SmarterMail and it actually does allow us to incorporate AntiVirus support (one of the big reasons we're migrating to that system). If you haven't already recieved an email notification regarding the migration, you will soon. Please let me know if you have any further questions or problems! |

I personally hate the idea of ANYONE filtering my email except me...not that I don't trust HMS to get it right...but frankly, I don't trust HMS to get it right - know what I mean? Simply put, I don't expect HMS to protect me from viruses...they need to provide me with hosting and concentrate on doing that to the best of their abilities - I'll get with an antivirus team I like and we'll tackle the viruses...just my .02

If it helps you sleep better, the ONLY filtering that Smartermail employs by default is Virus filtering, and that is done in conjunction with Norton AV. So, as long as NAV is working correctly there is nothing to worry about.
The bad news is this - once we finish converting all of our mailservers to SmarterMail there won't be any way to setup an exception for this. I'd like to, but it's just not possible because there's not enough need from our other clients - i.e. no one else is telling us that they want us to forgo virus checking on incoming messages. |

Understandable...most people prolly don't think about it the same way I do...I just hate other people checking my email regardless if it's a machine doing it or not...know what I mean?
