We are currently looking for a better, more efficient way to assign products to our store categories (or remove from). Currently, the only way to assign products to a category (to my knowledge) is when the product is originally made within Miva, or later manually added from the category page. We are in the process of adding and changing our current category’s and manually adding and moving products between the categories doesn't seem very time efficient, and it’s very easy to forget to add/move products just due to the amount we have.

I was hoping some where out there; there is a module that allowed you to move/place/assign products into a selected category based on additional product field information. Something of this sort would be incredibly useful for stores with hundred to thousands of products.

For example, when making or editing a product in miva, there would be however many additional fields added where I can enter information
(Such as field#1 could be the product type, field #2 the manufacturer, field #3 could be color, etc.) that I could use to assign the products to a category based on what I have put in these fields.

So for better understanding (because I am terrible at explaining things), If I had a category called Green Shoes, I could add all my products that are green, and are shoes to this category by selecting to add products that have Shoes listed in field #1, and the color Green listed in field #3.

A module like this would allow me to categorize my entire site quickly and effectively as I could quickly assign products to categories by price range, specified product type, color, or what ever product break up you can come up with, versus printing out a list of all your inventory and manually adding/moving products to categories.

We are currently using Miva v4.22, and Stoneedge for our Data Base if that matters/helps.

Not quite what you are looking for (yet, we are working on something similar to what you describe), using our StoreMan product (www.phosphormedia.com/gohere.mv?cSM) will make a lot of Merchant content tasks a lot easier.
