I assume HostMySite has some sort of program they use to track their clients transfer usage. I googled around for a solution and didn't find anything. What software would you recommend for someone that wants to track how much transfer their clients are using on a Dedicated Server?

Also I have a question on Server Capabilities. If a website is highly optimized ( heavy use of cache ) and is hosted on a box with plenty of RAM ( 16 GB), and has Dual 3.6 GHz Xeons, is is possible to max out the 100 MBit NIC? Meaning could one server handle over 1 TB of transfer / day? This would be on a box running RAID 10 on 4 x 146GB 15K SAS drives. RAID card has 256 MB of RAM on board.

Also on servers with dual NIC ports. Is it possible to use both ports at the same time? Meaning certain IPs could be pointed at one port, and other IPs at the other?

We actually monitor this information from the switch, but you can do it through Windows Performance Monitor:

In my three years working here, there may have been one or two clients capable of saturating their uplink.

In regards to your question on using two network interfaces to try and gain greater bandwidth, I really think it's time you got on the phone with your hosting providers network operations team, lay out your expectations and see what they have to say.

I'm fairly certain they can help you get to the bottom of any perplexing network issues, and recommend the best course of action to correct them.

I don't have any problems with bandwidth or usage right now, as 1 TB / day is a lot of transfer to go through. But its just nice to know that it is physically possible to do this kind of transfer on a single box. I would think my provider would be thrilled that I would need that much transfer, as more transfer means more profits.
