I am very new to this and know that people are going to tell me that I shouldn't have setup a hosting a account if I don't know how to use it. You are probably right, but it is too late now so I need some help. please. How do I set up MIVA Merchant so that my domain name points to my store and not an alias like, store.domainname.com but instead just, domainaname.com ? This may be a completely stupid question but like I said, I am new to this, but I want to learn so I would rally appreciate some help.

First, there's never a stupid question. We all have to start somewhere!

You'd want to point domainname.com to our NS records first if you have not already. They are ns1.lnhi.net, ns2.lnhi.net, and ns3.lnhi.net. After doing so, submit a ticket to support@hostmysite.com with your account number (or via the control panel at cp.hostmysite.com as the account administrator). Tell support that you wish to have domainname.com point to store.domainname.com and make sure to include your MIVA admin login.

What we will then do is log into the server and add a ServerAlias line to the vhosts.conf file for you and update MIVA admin so it knows domainname.com is the same as store.domainname.com. We'll also update the DNS for domainname.com to point to store.domainname.com

Hope this helps!

Here at HostMySite there are never stupid questions. Its a great place to learn as you go. The techs are all very helpful, and knowledgeable. I have over 20 shared clients, and 5 VPS clients hosted here. You picked the right place to host your site.
