Has anyone been able to setup Sava CMS successfully on a shared CF8 account? I'm running MySQL.

Hey Shane,

We do have a few customers who run Sava CMS on our shared plans. As far as I've seen, the CMS runs well, with a pretty minimal hassle for set up. Did you have any specific questions about it?

The main issues in the install of Sava are mostly housekeeping issues -- updating DSNs, etc.

If you've got any specific questions, or are interested in trying it for 30 days (check out our guarantee!), just send an email to support@hostmysite.com.

Best of luck!

Not sure if this has been fixed yet, but I know SAVA had some small issues with the latest java release causing it to hang. The fix should be out now, so It may be a matter of downloading the patch. Start reading here: http://is.gd/ed9n

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to chime in... Please make sure they have the 1.6_011 jre installed.
This jre resolves 2 other serious CF* issues as well as the one related to SAVA.

I know this because we are investigating SAVA for use at work and we run on cf 8.2
and have run across these issues. I've also had HMS upgrade the JRE on the server that I'm hosted on and it took care of the a couple of issues i was having related to the old JRE.

Cheers from Florida

I have implemented Sava CMS here at HostMySite and with another host; both on dedicated servers.

The main reason to go with Sava is the ability to extend it. With most CMS, you will eventually find something that is not covered in the menus. Then its a question of in which programming language would you like to be when you need to 'make it happen'. I prefer Sava at this point because you get the API/library coupled with Coldfusion. This makes quick work of extending functionality. But I must say, this is rather infrequent due to the excellent design already available. Another huge plus is the excellent separation of design from layout and content. CSS is your friend.
