Wink j/k dude

I know I was getting the same thing... I just gave part of my guess. Part of it could be excessive loading of dlls' and the such into memory to support the multitude of fonts and the way windows handles them all... all in all I really don't have a good guess though...

actually you maybe on the right track since osx doesnt have to go thru and add registry dll and such and each things has its own process seperate from everything else.

I mean this old g3 mac (1999) smokes a p4 2.4 ghz, I just don't get it ???????

I mean I am not trying to be a smart azz or bash ms, I am just curious how all these things work ya know, I mean I am still new to a mac, I still try to clean registry lol. ~old habits, die hard~

Nothing you've said had to do with bashing anybody dude lol... chill... Smile It seemed to me that the fonts might make the most difference... after all, you do know that windows loads each and every font in the fonts folder on startup... so if you're having slow startups you can always remove all the fonts you dont use and things will speed up a bit.
