Ok - our department is switching to Smartermail as well and I have a question for you guys that are admining SmarterMail. Maybe you can answer here maybe you can't...but here goes...

When we need to add a user, in our control panel, we go to Settings - Email Accounts and it lists all our users...all 10,000+ users...

This HAS to be configureable somewhere so that each time we go to email accounts it doesn't list ALL of the accounts we have. Is there a way to limit the number of accounts displayed and then page through them???

This is crazy - you guys have to have a TON of users too - right?

The list of users is only the list of users on that domain, so I've never seen the list go over a few hundred - which in itself is a little big. I've already got a request in to SmarterTools to implement something that will make this a little more managable.

We have 10,000+ on one domain...imagine what it's like for our admins to add a new user...

I'm not sure if this is something that is possible where you work, but since there are so many users, it might be easier to draft up a small script using the webservices that smartertools provides to add the user. This way, you can add the user without waiting for the list of users to load up each time. The corresponding WSDL file would be located at http://<your mailserver name>/services/useradmin.asmx?WSDL

That is exactly what we ae looking at doing - and you're talking to the guy that is tasked with that job!

I just wanted to see if there was not something out there already that took care of this problem. I posted on the smartertools forums in a thread where someone else was having the smae problem in another one of our agencies - looks like we'll be collaborating on this little project once I am done with it.
