Hi.. Does anyone have suggestions on which translation service or other options I could use to make a multiple language site. I only want to design and code it once, and do translation "on-the-fly"
Thanks in Advance. |

The only REAL way to do a translation and get it right is to have a clearing house actually look at the site and do the translation manually. Otherwise you get a bablefish conglomeration - and that's not good...
If you have some money... http://www.motionpoint.com/corporate/index.asp If you have mostly static content you could build your site to use language files and then get some friends who speak other languages to create the language files for you. It's essentially the same thing that Motionpoint does, but on a smaller scale, and youd have to engineer your site to correctly use the alternate language files to display your content. Upkeep is always the killer though...anytime you change something in one language, you have to change it in all of them and that's not easy if you don't ahve a place like Motionpoint doing it for you. |

Using language file is the most approach. Most of the systems that support multiple languages or skins utilize language and template files.

If you really want to see something funny, type out an English sentence and run it through Babelfish -> Spanish, then take the output and run it through from Spanish -> English. |
