OK. I'm probably going on a soap box and I apologize for going off, but hear me out..

Over the past 2 years, we have been accumulating more and more domains. We are finding in increasingly hard to manage those domains. We feel that HostMySites domain management is very poor. We needed to update the technical contact for every domain, as well as some customer information for various domains. We had to login to EVERY domain individually via manage.safesecureweb.com. It was a very tedious process. which we have to do quite often.

Furthermore, one of our clients own about 40 some domains. We needed to change the IP address where they point. Again, we had to "manage dns" on each one of the domains in the control panel.

Why is there not a "Bulk Update" for both whois records and DNS records? I've worked with a client who has about 2 dozen domains at go daddy and their domain tools are excellent. You can bulk add/update anything you want. I have been transferring clients domains out of GoDaddy to HMS, but with having more and more domains to manage, we are having second thoughts.

We also have a client, (the same one with the 40 domains) who asked to edit their own whois records. And again, since all domains registered have the same username/password. (Which I can't just hand out) it makes it hard. I know in OpenSRS you can create ONE alternate user, but doing that 40 times?

I've been a reseller for almost 2 years now, and haven't really seen any added improvements to to aid resellers in managing their accounts via their control panel.

We still love HostMySite and we aren't going anywhere, so don't take offense. Razz Customer Feedback is everything..right?

We can take care of it for you in bulk if you need us to (domain locking/unlocking, NS changes, contact changes). The problem is we're bound by TuCows interface and really they don't give much access to anything from a customer standpoint.

But you're not alone in wanting bulk management. I'll submit feedback and see if we can get it though.

If you link all of the domains in manage.safesecureweb.com I'm pretty sure you can do bulk updates as well. I'm not in the office and I can't remember my own password (doh!) but under Manage in the manage.safesecureweb.com I seem to remember having the ability of linking domains and when changes are made I think I can make it for all of the domains. Atleast I seem to remember something with that, take a look and if you dont see that let me know and I can check when I get into work.

Thanks for the info. I checked it out, and I don't see it on the domain control panel. Maybe yours is different? I'd appreciate if you could take a look.

thanks!

When you login to manage.safesecureweb.com you can click on Manage Profile - Change Ownership of Domain - and input like the 'Master Domains' information (click 'Move to existing profile'). This allows you to update all of the contact information with one change. I don't think you can unlock or update nameservers in bulk that way though. We have a way to do those changes in bulk, but we can only put in one 'bulk' command at a time (per TuCows interface) and sometimes bulk changes take over two hours to complete so thats why I assume it is harder to implement a bulk change feature in our control panel.
