Hey all -

I have a Linux account on HMS. And I'm trying to install Movable Type. Nothing I try seems to work. The first time I ran the install, it seemed to be moving along fine. It got to the point where it was supposed to start creating the DB tables, and it crapped out (no error message). Since then, I can't get any of the scripts to run at all. I've even deleted all the files, re-uploaded, and still nothing. Any thoughts?

So Ryan in tech support was able to help me out with this. Turns out the problem was file permissions. I was setting them (or so i thought) through my ftp app, but even though they appeared to be correct, they weren't on the server side.

Thanks again Ryan.

You're very welcome Smile For others, you need to chmod 755 *.cgi in the directory you're installing MT. I've noticed that some FTP applications don't set the permissions correctly sometimes, so it's best to do it via SSH, if possible (and you're familiar with it of course).

Additionally, an item needs to be added to your vhosts.conf container, which support can do or I'd be glad to take care in the future for anyone else that needs it. We just need the directory you're installing MT in and we'll take care of it for you!
