Yeah, so with the default memory configs of 256MB for the VPS server, most Java stuff won't run at all. You'll get some sort of message like:
Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. And even if you spring for the 512MB at $15/mo more, I'd still be worried about how performant the whole thing would be. Bottom Line: VPS really is not very good for Java and tomcat and things of that Ilk. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of other things I can use VPS for. |

Have you tried contacting support regarding the issue? 256 should be enough for the JVM. Sounds like there might be an issue with the configuration on the server in which your VPS is configured.
