Port for POP3 server

What port number is being used instead of the default 110 for POP3 servers?

hrm... they're using an alternate pop port now? I've heard of people/ISPs blocking SMTP ports, for obvious reasons, but never a POP port. it wouldn't actually do any good to block people checking their mail

We're setup Port 50 as an alternate SMTP port, however we don't have an alternate POP port - it's never been needed, as Josh said.

e-mail admin, you are wrong!

We actually have a couple servers running POP on 1100 as well as 110, because of people with bizarre firewall/ISP issues. Going above 1024 for the port seems to solve it when it happens. It's not a very frequent thing to have happen, but it is an option if necessary

Well here is my issue. I'm trying to configure my Thunderbird account and I'm getting an error message when I type in my password, and I know it's the correct password because I've connected through Webmail just fine. Can you assist?

Yeah, you should really just give us a call or e-mail to get help with that specific issue, but we've seen some problems with Thunderbird in the past on certain builds. If the current build you have isn't working, one idea is to try grabbing a new one at mozilla.org
