Hi,

I use Miva 5 and want to modify existing pages or create new custom ones. In particular:

1) I want to add form fields to the Customer Account when customers register
2) Once the form fields are created , i want to pull customer information from Miva Merchant just b4 the customer checks out, and then use customer purchases to perform some calculations.

I went ahead and designed the code I need for the calculations in PHP, but i found out today that Miva doesn't support PHP. Is there anyone who knows how to integrate PHP scripts into the Miva 5 store or suggest another solution. Note: I'm not familiar with Mivascript, so the solution you provide can't be about coding using mivascript.

thanks,
Percy

While it should be possible to integrate PHP into Miva, this would make it extremely difficult for the technicians at HostMySite to troubleshoot problems on your store.

In Miva 5 a new technology by the name of Store Morph allows you to customize and even script your pages using Miva's built in templating system.

While this does require a bit of learning on your part I know a number of technicians who were able to get a working understanding of the technology within a week.

More information on Store Morph technology can be found here,

Any time!

I'd be interested to hear your experiences with the technology.

So if you don't mind, can you give us an update once you've had a chance to try it out?

I stayed up trying out the technology and there is a glimmer of hope because i have been able to add a few form fields i needed to add, but i can't figure out how to delete a predefined field in case i need to replace it with a button or something. the other issue i'm facing with the form fields is that i can't find anywhere to add custom buttons. the only buttons appearing on pages are the predefined ones.

My major problem though is that i have a script called utilities.php that contains all the calculations and logic i need to achieve the added functionality on miva store, and i can't figure out how to link this script to all the pages that need to call it. i understand i can't use a PHP "include", but i was hoping there was a way to include this kind of scripts. i think i can convert the script to html or javascript but then after that i don't know what to do with it in order for it to be recognized by other pages.

I'm not giving up on this though, so if u have any other suggestions, i would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Percy
