Don't forget Yahoo does practically the same thing as Google's G-mail (I think). I've got 2 GB available for my email but I never thought about using some of that for HD storage. The extra G only costs me $19.95/year. Frankly, I really like Yahoo's mail service... and as far as them eliminating legitimate mail due to overly-aggressive filtering, how can anyone know that? I hear people say they do, but how can you measure what you don't get? I don't care how 'newbieish' Yahoo may be perceived to be... I like Yahoo.

The only thing that I'd give you hard time about is actually paying for a Yahoo acct. Other than that nothing beats preference, and Yahoo does give you alot of options for mail retrieval. It's very full featured.

You get 1 GB free, which is all I really need but with Yahoo Mail Plus, besides the extra G, there are some other good features.

Something has happened lately tho which I can't figure out. It used to be that when I clicked on any 'mail to' link, my browser would bring up Yahoo's mail form. Then, it began bringing up Microsoft Word (yes, Word) as my email editor. I've since changed it to Outlook Express but only because I can't figure out how to get it back to using Yahoo. Believe it or not, I've never used Outlook... I don't even know where the mail is stored, nothing.

I'm not denying that Thunderbird is far more secure... but the feature set in outlook is better last time I checked. Yes, I know they're currently working on adding scheduling to the capabilities of TBird, but it's not there yet. Other than that I think TBird is great... it's just that I'm an MS man, because you know MS products are far superior to anything else out there. Very Happy

I've never used any free email accounts (hotmail, yahoo, gmail)

I've always had my own domain so I've never needed a separate email account for when I jump around to different providers. I've never even thought of using my email account as storage because I can always just ftp to my machine at home or even just browse to it and uplaod what I need - or DL for that matter.

Matter of fact - i dunno that I've ever had more than 10meg in my mailbox at anytime. 2-3 is usually it and then it gets downloaded into my email client at home (I use Forte Agent for email - I hate Outlook).

I also use POPFile to filter spam. I've trained it for about 1.5 years and it's like 99.6% accurate now.

If you guys dunno what POPFile is - it's worth your time to look into it.

No, I'm not going to use awstats now. I sent you an email about that last Saturday... this time the folder was missing three things:
awstats/log-db
awstats/log-archive
awstats/log-raw

I've already had to delete 3 versions already... anything that unstable (or touchy), I don't want. Thanks anyway Josh but I'm sure Jamie is tired of messing with it too.

Dave, as far as my 'mail-to' editor, it's probably the unintended consequence of something else I changed, I've just gotta figure out which it was. In my case, it isn't Windows being the problem, but the operator. Nonetheless... I L-O-V-E Windows XP, I wouldn't trade it for anything!!! Nobody, not nobody, will convince me otherwise... nor do I want to hear, when I have a question, why I should change. Clear enough?? (I've really grown sick of your comments about what I use)

i remember u saying that about frontpage to................ and u still use that worthless crap but at least u r more educated about webdesign now and that is because why? because i made u actually think & look a lil bit.

and excuse me? i dint say **** about your email crap u use just giving everyone some options.

Clear enough?? (I've really grown sick of your comments about what I use)

the world doesnt revolve around u mr perfecto nor are my comments only 4 u

well dont use crap and u wont have these problems, i dont know why u dont get it??????????
if u were to ask these ?'s on a real dev board they'd be laughing there asses off at u, im just trying to show u whats out there

now get this
anything i say on these boards has NOTHING to do with u nor will any of my spewing be directed towards helping u in any way, shape or form.

does that make u feel better?

That's fine with me. I don't want your opinions anymore, I won't read your posts anymore and I won't answer you anymore either. In fact, if you're still on here in the coming weeks, I'll find me another forum.
