I'm opening a site up in a few days/weeks as some of you already know, and I'd appreciate any preliminary feedback on it. The site is

http://www.mtgotradingpost.com

It's a website designed to facilitate an online trading card game called Magic the Gathering. Most of the pages require you to be logged in, but registration is free and I won't use your email address for anything (you can actually put a fake one if you like).

Login, add a few cards, search for some, etc, etc. Some of the pages still come to an Error b/c I haven't set them up yet, but I'm interested in what ya'll think about the stuff I do have finished. Thanks in advance to anyone that starts picking at it.

Any comments are welcome - just post them here - from the color scheme to the length of time a database execution takes.

Also, Loftboy, I designed this totally in IE 6.0 (the horror) so here's your chance to see how non-FireFox compliant it is.

Little problem with the login feature this morning, but that has been fixed, so if you created an account and couldn't login try it now!

Jamie,

I really like the interface, the only thing that I see so far is that you should give different names to your different classes of popup windows. In other words, you have a popup that displays the images of your cards, and then a popup that confirms the addition/removal of cards to your "purse"... you're using the same window name for each. You should be using different names, especially since you've specifed that each window is not resizeable, etc.

Thanks for the tip - I didn't even notice that.

It's now been fixed. Anybody else? Especially anyone using a browser other than IE?

Those drop-down menus are slick...did you make those from scratch?

Absolutely not. Smile They're from opencube.com - if you check the bottom of my page there is a link there to get them (it's required if you use the menus for free, which I do)

I agree though that it is a great product and really helped in the look and feel of the website.

Looking good in Firefox .9 & 1.0 - but I can't seem to get to http://www.mtgotradingpost.com/register/register.cfm#homepage#/faq.cfm to see why I should not use my MTGO password - looks like a malformed link but I dunno CF so it may not be...it's the BIG BLUE link at the bottom of the register page
