Hello,
My next issue is when I try to send email to any AOL address. I get an email back from the AOL system admin saying error 421 service not available. I have a Windows CF + VPS Plan, has anyone had any issues with sending email to AOL? Just so you know up front, I have not sent out any bulk emails, etc. Just whatever someone would send throughout a normal day that have clients with AOL addresses (maybe 2 or 3 per day). Is there anything I could do on the server to fix this? Or is it a HMS thing? -- Thank You, Frank |

Reverse DNS is likely to blame here. Goto http://www.dnsstuff.com and use the Reverse DNS test on the primary IP address of your VPS. If it comes back with an error then that's the problem. Contact support and ask them to setup proper reverse DNS - in order to do this they'll need to know the domain name that you have pointing to your IP address.
For example if 'hostmysite.com' was your main VPS domain, you would use that. "HostMySite.com" should then point to your IP, and the IP in turn should reverse to "HostMySite.com". |

jamie,
I did the Reverse DNS lookup and it was fine. HMS Support confirmed this last week. I am posting it here to see if anyone had any experience with this error. -- Looking forward to finding a solution, Frank |

That's interesting. Try some of the tools here
http://postmaster.aol.com/tools/index.html i.e., getting the feedback loop and whitelist going. That should help with delivery, and if not then you'll be able to call AOL's postmaster desk (after the feedback loop is setup) and they should be able to investigate this as well. |
