I have heard of Ironport, but deemed it impractical for two reasons:
1. COST
2. I personally get spam from the same people - I add custom thunderbird filters
3. I am working on an automated mail screening service that forwards everything through akismet, multiple providers who probably have ironports. If anyone needs to reach me sooner than 15 minutes (the limit on the frequency of crons), they can CALL me (of course how many people know that) or use a special email.... like my.name @ pass.mydomain.com

I had the same stuff happening to me so I intigrated a captcha module written in Perl from CPAN. Big difference. Now the bots can't get in and if some SPAMMER wants to waste his time with captcha then fine as I still have means to block them by IP, Subject, email, name, etc.
