I'm not a customer of hostmysite yet, but i have a question, I have been reading about that fiber cut by a construction company to one of hostmysites data centers and have been impressed with the reponse of hostmysite's staff.
However, why was there not redundant network connections so in the event of a fiber cut, the other backbone would take over?

Yeah, from what my uninformed self observed, the cut pretty much literally happened in our parking lot, between themain junction box and us. There are multiple backbone providers, but something like that.....let's just say it's something you think has a one in a billion chance of happening. But, you can always learn from everything. The odds of that happening a 2nd time have to now be about 1 in 10 billion, but I'm sure we'll be prepared this time.
