c123, I can go all the way through the order form from the link you sent... so can a few others here. Can you give us some more details? For example, what version of Firefox you are using? What exactly do you mean by "do anything on the page"?

I just realized I have http referrer disabled on my browser and thats probably what is causing the problem if you dont get it on your end.

I only have a few sites, most are coldfusion, and some are PHP5. All use very little resources. However, I was running an ecommerce site on the VPS for a while while I was testing the application and it performed VERY well right along side all the other sites.

It's hard to say exactly how many sites you can run. It's all dependent on resources. If you are just running simple coldfusion sites, with simple cfml you can run a lot. But if you're talking total ecommerce applications, maybe no more than 10 to hold performace at a good level.

I installed both PHP5 and MySQL 5 on my ColdFusion VPS + (.NET VPS + is just about the same) without any snags. Just keep in mind of the slim disk space on the C drive. If you have any questions let me know.

I should add that when you're setting up/installing MySQL, that you store your databasefiles on the D Drive, and your log files on the E drive just like the setup of SQL Server. That way you don't have to worry about your space on C. You can change the default locations via a config file in the MySQL dir. I don't remember it off hand, but if you need it please let me know and I'll look on my VPS.

OK, I understand where database files and log files should reside on a VPS+ plan (D: and E: respectively).

Where do the website files (.cfm, .html, etc in my case) reside ... C:, D:, or E: ( I suspect D:, but I want to make certain...)

By Default,(at least on my VPS) IIS was configured to store files in C:\InetPub\wwwroot.

I just changed the default website, and any others there after to D:\Websites\

I also store my IIS website log files on the E Drive since they can also accumulate and grow in size quickly

I have CF+ VPS. Sold performance. never any problems.

I would stay away from plesk if they are telling us that is doesnt work right. Admin without plesk is a little more complicated but not too bad.

DNS control could be better for VPS customers.

Email administration is as usual, a bear and you are just kind of out there on your own but smartermail is a pretty good product.

I installed mysql and have MSsql intalled. had some trouble installing the latested version of MySQL but the last version instlled no prob and is running fine with CF.

I would like to see: More control over DNS, Solid spam control tactics or advice , Shared apps like Blogs, site creator installed and ready to easily imnplement for websites.

I started in January with a Windows CF VPS, which includes 512 MB of RAM. While it sounded like a reasonable number in fact it was woefully inadequate for running IIS, SmarterMail, ColdFusion and one modest SQL Server Express database. The commit charge (RAM usage) ran 80% or more when the system was quiescent, then spiked up to 100% -- which crashes ColdFusion -- when anything much happened. Attempting to migrate two more of my Access databases to SQL Server pushed commit charge over the edge even without significant activity.

I moved earlier this month to a Windows CF VPS+, with 1 GB RAM. Its commit charge is running under 60% with the one SQL database, and it is just barely handling the spikes (when the server sends a few thousand emails). I think it will do the trick, although it will be impossible for me to move any more of my databases to SQL.

Just about everything else about the VPS accounts has been fine. The provided software works well and the servers are stable. But I would caution prospective customers about trying to do much with the CF VPS, and anyone about trying to use SQL Server with substantial databases on either the VPS or VPS+.
