alright, managed to write myself a pretty basic index page, and am familiar enough with html that i have decided it to be ready for a test uploading... so i log onto my ftp server, and drag my index.html file over into the root driectory (im using IE for ftp). So now i have index.html at ftp://thestrangequark.com/index.html but... it wont load when i try to load http://thestrangequark.com or http://thestrangequark.com/index.html so my question is what foolish thing have i forgotten? why will my page not load as i believe it should?


oh yes, also i cannot drag any files into any folders for some reason, even though i should be logged on as an admin (with the usernamr and password given to me by hostmysite.com)

Make sure you put the file in the 'htdocs' directory on the FTP server side. Everything in here is accessible using the URLs you're testing with.
