hey I’m new to networking, and recently I installed azureus. it asks me to test a port for incoming peer connection, I have tried numerous port numbers and I am continually get a Nat error, I run Norton 2006 and also have an alpha shield.
I have two questions 1. is it necessary to have a tcp listening port to run this program? And 2. if so how do I go about opening a port? |

If you are behind a router, you will have to port forward port 6681 to your local IP address (something like 192.168.1.101). That will resolve your NAT error, and give you quick speed. It's easy to do if you have a linksys router. Just log into the router, then click on Applications & Gaming, and then follow the instructions.
Hope this helps |
