I have added 'REMOTE_ADDR' to store in my database to show who is looking at each part in my online store. But what a really want to see is the country that the remote IP has come from. Do you know of any where I can get country information from via a remote IP address by using something like a url lookup or a database of IP ranges?
Thanks, Vern |

Ownership of the IP address can be determined by checking with the appropriate Registry, which I've listed here:
American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) Homepage: http://www.arin.net WhoIs: http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) Homepage: http://www.apnic.net WhoIs: http://www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/whois.pl APNIC serves the entire Asia Pacific region, comprising sixty-two economies in Asia and Oceania. Latin American and Caribbean IP address Regional Registry (LACNIC) Homepage: http://www.lacnic.net WhoIs: http://lacnic.net/sp/ LACNIC's goals are to represent and promote the region's points of view and support Internet growth. Additionally, LACNIC promotes Internet-related educational opportunities and public policies. RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) Homepage: http://www.ripe.net/ WhoIs: http://www.ripe.net/db/whois/whois.html The RIPE NCC performs activities primarily for the benefit of the membership in Europe, the Middle East, northern Africa, and parts of Asia |

That's easily the most useful website I've seen in the last month. And with the number I see on a daily basis, that's a true compliment.
Thanks! |

Hello Jamie, you might wanna take a look at this ip address lookul tool http://www.ipgp.net. I think it is even better because you have a Google Map as well for most of the queries. |

You could also check out this post http://andyjarrett.co.uk/andy/blog/index.cfm/2008/9/13/geo-based-IP-lookup-with-ColdFusion which details how to use a web service to pull information about an IP in ColdFusion.

Why would I want to see a real world map? It's not like I ever leave my desk. |
