Is there somewhere we can download all the pre-approved CFX server library files?
I am using the CFX_JpegResizer tag on my site which is one of your pre-loaded CFX Tags but I need the Server Library (.dll) file to load onto my testing server. Thanks, Vern Norrgard www.nmd.com.au |

Hello Vern,
We don't have any distribution rights for these tags. You can get a copy from the developer if you want to use it on your local machine. It can be downloaded for free and is available at: http://www.chestysoft.com/jpegresize/default.asp |

This has been a very confusing expersise trying to use these pre-approved/pre-loaded CFX tags because they are different to what you state them to be on the website http://www.hostmysite.com/hosting/ecommerce/
I searched google to find the dll files of the tags that you state on the site and then when I test them on test server they work. But when I then upload them to the live server, your server, they are different. Attributes don't match and the name of the tag changes. I started with CFX_JpegResize which I downloaded and install on my server, wrote the code and then uploaded the cfm page to your server. It did not work because the CFX tag on your server was named cfx_JpegResizer instead and it also had different attributes. I then asked for the attributes for the cfx_JpegResizer tag and then after a painfull discussion explaining what I was talking about, I was sent the attributes which where total different to the CFX_JpegResize I had downloaded. Now the CFX tag on the live website and my testing server are different. I then spoke to Howard who sent me the dll file so I could load it onto my server and I also raised it in this forum to which Juan placed a link to where I could download it from. Both of which are the CFX_JpegResize tag and not the cfx_JpegResizer which is loaded onto the server. So I still can't test any coding before uploading, which I can not do for QA purposes. I then tried the CFX_imageinfoSE tag which is also listed on the above link on your site as a pre-approved tag. Following the same path, I find that the tag is actually CFX_imageinfo and also the attributes are different. I then downloaded CFX_imageinfo and installed on my testing server and wrote the coding and uploaded the cfm file. And you guessed it, it doesn't work. "Element FILE is undefined in IMAGEINFO" CFX_imageinfo (NOT CFX_imageinfoSE) cfx_JpegResizer (NOT CFX_JpegResize) Thanks, Vern Norrgard jr www.nmd.com.au Motorsport News Website Design |

Vern,
I noticed you sent in a ticket to support regarding this issue, and I believe Jitendra has already responded, but let me sum up the issue here for the sake of those reading the forums. The CFX tags listed on our site aren't entirely accurate, for the following reasons: 1. We don't install a tag unless it is requested, and then only on the server it is requested for. 2. When installing, we use the version that the client requested and referenced, which may or may not be the most common or most updated version. 3. If another version of the tag exists already on the server, we will rename the 2nd version in order for both to function. This prevents us from changing the version out from under one of our clients. The CFX tags we list on our website are the 'generic' references and may not reflect what is actually installed on our servers. However, if you download and install another version of one of those tags on your dev server, then discover that it doesn't work on our production server, you can simply email us and let us know that you'd like to have that tag installed. If you give us the URL we can obtain it from, chances are we can get it installed same day since we already support a variation of that tag. <whew> Did all of that make sense to you? I hope so - if you have any further questions about our CFX policy, please let me know. |

It has been a phenomenal source of frustration trying to understand your custom tag environment. I do not understand why it is so impossible for you to just have an authoritative page of what custom tags are ACTUALLY available on the server and a link to where on the internet they can be found. I understand you do not have redistribution rights to these tags but that does not require you to keep their source a secret. The situation is such that google search results for CFX_imageinfoSE returns nothing but bulletin board complaints about how frustrating your custom tag situation is.

The available custom tags are listed clearly (the second link) on the Coldfusion support page: http://www.hostmysite.com/support/cfusion/ Or directly at: http://www.hostmysite.com/support/cfusion/cftags/ As far as what they are, I'm sure support can email you on how they function. But I just googled a couple and found a good description of how to use them. |

Sure, a list of what the tags are (but not entirely accurate, if you read jamie's post a few posts up). What more could I possibly need?
My point is that its not a lot to ask for a list that IS entirely accurate with a link to where to find the tags, especially from a host that prides itself on service. |

That post above is also almost 3 years old. Like I said, contact support and I'm sure they can give you an updated list. Although HMS's support docs always seem to be up to date. |
